A message from the Department of Community and Economic Development Technology Investment Office: Each day additional grant opportunities provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) move into the application phase. Many of these can directly benefit the tech-based economic development (TBED) community. A useful resource for locating and tracking TBED related opportunities is the analysis provided by the State Science and Technology Institute (SSTI) found at http://www.ssti.org/Digest/2009/ headlines09.htm, February 19 edition The SSTI analysis groups the TBED related opportunities by federal agency and department. Searching these opportunities on www.recovery.gov, (go to investments, by agency) and www.fbo.gov (also available at recovery.gov via the “opportunities” tab) will provide up-to-date information on the status of these programs via links to each agency's recovery website.
